Rising from the crypts of Cologne, SUMERIAN TOMBS have quickly established themselves as a force to be reckoned with in the underground Black Metal scene. Their fusion of furious aggression, haunting melodies, and deep mythological narratives has captivated fans and critics alike.. SUMERIAN TOMBS describe their sound as Epic Vampyric Black Metal, a term that encapsulates their blend of second-wave Black Metal ferocity, eerie atmospherics, and epic storytelling. Unlike many bands associated with vampiric themes, SUMERIAN TOMBS take a more ancient and primal approach, drawing inspiration from the Edimmu and Ekimmu, vampyric wind spirits from Mesopotamian mythology—far removed from the romanticized vampire imagery often found in gothic or symphonic metal.
